Hey everyone, as the summer time has approached lets discover some new summer friendly products. One summer essential is a heat proof primer that will help your foundation stay on for longer hours and make your makeup oil proof. Hence, I am reviewing the Rimmel Fix & Protect Makeup Primer for you guys today.
For those who do not know, a primer is used before the foundation in order to make sure that makeup lasts for a long time. There are several types of primers, from those that minimize pores, those that reduce redness to ones that control oil. This particular one fits the latter category and hence, makes it summer appropriate. I have a combination to oily skin, with most of the oil surrounding my T-zone area i.e nose, forehead and cheeks. This baby helps to control the oil secretion and makes my makeup last for around 5 hours or so without oil popping over my foundation. This primer is the ultimate solution for your oily skin struggles!
But that is not it!! I sometimes use it as a daily wear top coat especially when my skin is feeling red, tired or dull. It gives an instant evenness to the skin by reducing redness and bestowing it wit luminosity, all the while leaving it matte. As you can see in the picture below, it has tiny specs of glitter in it which makes the skin look healthy and bright. These shiny specs are neither too big nor small, that is why I love them. However, if you do not like glitter, then I would not advise you to wear this primer on its own. This primer is perfect for daily wear in summers when you do not want to apply a foundation or BB cream, yet want a protective layer on top, because it has SPF 25 which means, it guarantees protection from the harsh sun rays.
The consistency of the primer is not too thick, it is a bit runny which makes it easy to apply without it feeling heavy or sticky on the skin. It absorbs instantly in to the skin and feels really light. As you can see, it comes in a little tube which can be squeezed, making product dispensing process hygienic and easier to control.
With so many positive points, it is difficult to think of any con except the price point because is quite a small tube (30ml) that retails for around pkr 800-900. But trust me, it is worth it!!
I got mine from Imtiaz – Karachi, but the primer is readily available at most local shops with a Rimmel kiosk. You can also check out other primers from the same brand based on your skin needs.
Hope you found this review helpful, stay tuned for more !!
